The Living Lab (LL) Energy-Veneto network is composed of numerous agricultural enterprises that currently participate by providing information on their production processes and are ready to receive guidance and recommendations to optimize their energy use.
Two major lighthouse farms, in particular, have made their facilities available for activities within the LL. One, whose core business is biomethane production, has taken part in initiatives aimed at optimizing cereal production dedicated to anaerobic digesters. The other has provided fields and innovative equipment for trials focused on optimizing herbicide treatments, with the objective of reducing chemical inputs and minimizing the number of interventions required for weed control.
Furthermore, in collaboration with a German company, a demo farm was organized within one of the LL member enterprises to showcase the potential of innovative machinery for weed management, with the aim of integrating chemical and mechanical techniques, thereby reducing herbicide input and the energy required for this type of operation.
